A lot of cute navy guys can be found at the Admiralty, with its landmark tall spire.
As the site of the naval college, it's where funeral services were held
for those former students who died in the Kursk submarine accident.

The Admiralty is decorated with some nice statues.

A military band playing on Nevsky Prospekt, St. Petersburg's main street.

A lone trumpter on one of the canals. Strangely enough, he seemed to be playing the theme from The Godfather.

Women in St. Petersburg are fashionable and take great care with their appearance.

The Kunstkamera houses the musuem of anthropology and ethnography
and also has a famous collection of biological
abnormalities (lots of three-headed babies and the like).

The Russian Museum features exclusively Russian art
and was my favorite museum in the city.

Soldiers, soldiers everywhere. Two years of service is compulsory.

The enormous St. Isaac's cathedral is another St. Petersburg
landmark; you can see the dome everywhere.

"And the Holy Spirit descended in the form of a dove..."
This is a nice optical illusion--the dove appears to float in the dome.
